Beautiful
Dentures for Confident Smiles
If you select dentures as a replacement for missing
teeth, we can design and fit natural-looking dentures that won’t slip.
Recent technology allows us to anchor a denture plate so securely that
you no longer have to worry about the foods you eat and your slipping
and shifting dentures. If you are already a denture wearer, we invite
you to ask us about this procedure. It will make your life so much
easier.
Dental
Hygiene and Preventive Care
Everyone knows that regular visits to the dental
hygienist for teeth cleaning are essential for maintaining optimum oral
health. Professional teeth cleaning and the prevention of dental
problems go hand in hand.
Here in our practice we are very interested in heading trouble off BEFORE it happens. This saves you time and expense.
We have a soft tissue management program (soft tissue = gums). Part of this program is regular cleanings, LASER gum treatments when needed, and the latest in medications to prevent gum disease.
You will also receive home care instructions and at least three follow up examinations to make sure you’re doing fine.
Dentists and hygienists are also your first line of defense in detecting and treating oral cancer. This is so important that we offer a ViziLite examination. Read more about ViziLite here www.ViziLite.com

sleep because of snoring or sleep apnea? We have a simple, effective way
to treat not only snoring but sleep apnea that is an alternative to the
bulky CPAP machine. Our dental device you wear at night can reduce
annoying snoring and sleep apnea without surgery or medication. You CAN
sleep better! Just ask us how.
Do You Have
Pain in Your Temples or Jaw Joint?
Are Your Teeth Sore or Sensitive?
Has your dentist ever asked you to bite down on
what looks like a piece of carbon paper? The dentist was checking your
“occlusion” or how your teeth mesh together. Improper meshing can lead
to pain in the teeth, muscles, and jaw joint. It can also cause
fractures in teeth and crowns and can even lead to nighttime teeth
grinding. Aligning the teeth properly can be incredibly complex, since
interference the thickness of a human hair can cause problems. That’s
why Flintridge Dental Studio is proud to be one of the first dental
practices in the country to use a state-of-the-art instrument called the
Tekscan™. This computerized bite analysis ensures your teeth are
properly aligned so you won’t have the problems that come with a “bad
bite.”
Saving
Hopeless Teeth
Teeth with roots that have been damaged or infected
used to require extraction, which can cause a lot of problems and should
be done as a last resort. When dental decay reaches the nerve of the
tooth (or the tooth has become infected), a simple filling does not
suffice. A root canal can save the tooth by removing the pulp of a tooth
and replacing it with a filling material. Root canals of the past were
quite painful and gained a reputation as something to be avoided.
However, with today’s modern anesthetics and technology, we can perform
root canals that are quite tolerable and often times even painless!

Worried About Your Child Knocking Out a Tooth?
Did you know that 5 million teeth are knocked out
each year in the United States alone? Many sports can be dangerous
without the proper protection. The one-size-fits-all mouthguards found
in stores just don’t fit very well. Wearing these, how can you breathe
while running during soccer or basketball? On the other hand,
custom-made sports mouthguards fit well, protect well, and can be worn
for any sport, including soccer, baseball, basketball, and, of course,
football and hockey.
90% Reduction in Radiation
Introducing digital imaging, available at our
practice. With this technology, an image is taken of your mouth with a
digital sensor and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately
available. This method results in 90% less radiation than conventional
X-rays. No more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste
to pollute the environment.
The Wand
The Wand is a high tech, computerized anesthetic
delivery system, and we are proud to offer it in our practice. Prior to
its introduction, the syringe, a 150-year-old technology, was the
primary method of delivering anesthesia.
What does this mean? In plain English it means we can deliver a shot to
a patient and they almost always say, “I didn’t feel a thing!”
Additionally, the Wand provides a more accurate and safer delivery of
anesthesia. You no longer have to be fearful or anxious of the
traditional dental needle when you visit our office.
Intra-Oral
Camera Makes You a Part of the Team
The doctor works hand-in-hand with patients to
create a bond of teamwork. One of the ways we bring this about is
through the use of a high-tech tool, the Intra-Oral Camera. This amazing
device is a miniature video camera that displays a close-up picture of
the inside of your mouth. You can see for yourself what work needs to be
done and which teeth are doing fine. You then become a participant in
each dental decision. You'll love how this works!
